Overview

The Mountainlair Student Union Reservations Assistant position is responsible for assisting in scheduling students, staff, and faculty of West Virginia University.  This position consults with prospective patrons by telephone, email and in person to ensure requirements as they relate to meeting rooms, technical support, and in-house catering service.

How to Apply

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for handling computerized reservations for the use of Mountainlair’s (16) meeting rooms, two Ballrooms, and five lobby spaces. 
  • Advises groups desiring use of the facilities as to square footage space available, special accommodations, furniture, and special equipment. 
  • Provide exceptional customer service and support for meetings and events held in the Mountainlair. 
  • General office duties such as copying, answering the phone, running daily reports, etc.

Scheduled Hours

Applicants selected for this position will be scheduled between the hours of 8:15 am - 4:45 pm, Monday – Friday.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled WVU student in good academic standing (overall GPA of 2.0 or above) 
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with the public on a near continuous basis. 
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain detail records.
