Overview

The Administrative Assistant works in the Administrative Office Suite of the Mountainlair Student Union. This position is trained to assist in most areas of the Mountainlair.

  • Reports to: Interim Asst. Director
  • Pay Rate: $10/hr.

How to Apply

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service. 
  • All aspects of daily opening and closing of administrative offices. 
  • Able to pivot from one job to another. (indoors/outdoors) 
  • Operate Micros cash register. 
  • Ability to count money and give correct change. 
  • Thoroughly knowledgeable on the Lost & Found Policy and Procedures. 
  • Complete reports and documentation in accordance with university and department policies. 
  • Assist in administrative office, information center, games area, and other duties as assigned.

Scheduled Hours

Those selected for this position will be assigned shifts during the following times:

  • Monday-Friday:  8:15am to 4:45pm 
May be asked to cover other times as needed for various events.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled WVU student in good academic standing. (required) 
  • Exceptional customer service skills (required) 
  • Exceptional telephone etiquette. (required) 
  • Cash handling (required).
  • Operate cash register (required)
  • Organization skills 
  • Must be able to pass WVU’s Handling Training prior to being able to start working. (required) 
  • Must be able to lift 50+ lbs.
