Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide excellent Customer service while assisting customers who call or approach the Information Center
- Provide excellent customer with the most accurate and up-to-date information.
- Maintain customer friendly attitude.
- Assist in the day-to-day operations of the Information Center.
- Collect, sort, and distribute Campus Mail.
- Maintains Bulletin Boards and Bulletin board approval.
- Log, organize, and maintain Lost & Found area.
- Collaborates with departments within the Mountainlair, (i.e., Night Operations, Facilities Management, Reservations, Dining Services, etc.).
- Attend mandatory employee training.
- Follow department dress code policy.
- Provide welcoming work environment.
- Exercise good judgement and independent decision making.
- Responsible for opening/closing the Information Center.
- Maintains neat and clean work area.
- Complete duties assigned by supervisor.
Scheduled Hours
Those selected for this position will be assigned shifts during the following times:
- Monday-Thursday: 7:00 am - 11:00 pm
- Friday: 7:00 am - 10:00 pm
- Saturday: 8:30 am - 10:00 pm
- Sunday: 8:30 am - 11:00 pm
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled WVU student in good academic standing (overall GPA of 2.0 or above) (required)
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Exceptional telephone etiquette.
- General knowledge of Office 365.
- Must be dependable.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently.
- Must have organizational skills.
- Must enjoy working with Faculty, staff, students and campus visitors.
- Available to work evenings and weekends.
- Must have positive attitude.
- Must be willing to complete task assigned by supervisor.
- Ability to work as a team member.
- Ability to handle emergency situations.
- Ability to handle conflict and stressful situations.
- Previous Customer Experience (preferred).
- General knowledge of West Virginia University campuses (preferred).
