Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee the operations of the Mountainlair Student Union (220,000+ sq. feet). Provide exceptional customer service and support for meetings, events, and users of the Mountainlair.
- Prepare venues for events including unlocking doors and ensuring rooms are set according to standard and custom diagrams.
- Collaborate and assist with onsite supervision of other program areas within the facility (Games Area, Information Desk, Reservations, etc.).
- Ensure user safety by monitoring event spaces and collaborating with Facilities Management, University Police, and other departments.
- Appropriately respond to and handle emergency situations while following emergency protocols.
- Complete reports and documentation in accordance with university and department policies.
- Assist in operations of WVU's Up All Night programming including: swiping in students and their guests, monitoring users, and collaborating with campus partners.
Scheduled Hours
Those selected for this position will be assigned shifts during the following times:
- Monday-Thursday: 4:00 pm - 11:15 pm
- Friday: 4:00 pm - 2:30 am
- Saturday: 7:30 am - 2:30 am
- Sunday: 7:30 am - 11:15 pm
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled WVU student in good academic standing (overall GPA of 2.0 or above) (required)
- Ability and willingness to work in a fast-paced environment (required)
- Ability and willingness to work weekends and evenings (required)
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills (required)
- Ability to handle emergency situations efficiently (required)
- Previous Customer Service Experience (preferred)
