Games area reservations

Overview

The MSU Games Area offers discounted rentals for both University and external groups. Groups must have a minimum of 10 attendees to place a reservation and utilize the group rate. Additionally, groups making reservations outside of normal operating hours must have at least 40 attendees.

The group rate of $7 per person includes shoe rental, access to the billiards room and ping pong room, as well as access to board games for a two-hour period. This rate is for both external and WVU groups.

A special K-12 rate is available to K-12 school groups at a rate of $4 per person.


Reservation Procedures

WVU Groups

  1. WVU Groups can reserve the Mountainlair Games Area by logging into the MRO online reservation system using their WVU credentials. 
  2. Once logged in, users should select "Book Now" for the Games Area Reservation process template. 
  3. On the first page, enter your desired date and time into the booking page and select "Search."
  4. Select the green plus (+) sign next to the area you want to book: Games Area Bowling (bowling, billiards, ping pong, and board games) or Billiards Room (billiards room only).
  5. Enter your number of attendees, select "Add Room," and then select "Next Step."
  6. On the Services page, select the rate according to your group. Your number of attendees will automatically populate. Select "OK." 
  7. Select "Next Step" and enter the event details requested. 
  8. Once all questions are completed, select "Complete Reservation." A copy of your request will be sent to your email, and a member of our team will be in touch to finalize your event details. 


External Groups

  1. External Groups can reserve the Mountainlair Games Area by creating an account on the MRO online reservation system by selecting "Create an Account." Users will need to verify their email before logging in.
  2. Once logged in, users should select "Book Now" for the Games Area Reservation process template. 
  3. On the first page, enter your desired date and time into the booking page and select "Search."
  4. Select the green plus (+) sign next to the area you want to book: Games Area Bowling (bowling, billiards, ping pong, and board games) or Billiards Room (billiards room only).
  5. Enter your number of attendees, select "Add Room," and then select "Next Step."
  6. On the Services page, select the rate according to your group. Your number of attendees will automatically populate. Select "OK." 
  7. Select "Next Step" and enter the event details requested. 
  8. For group, use the magnifying glass to search for "One Time Clients." You can enter your contact information as a temporary contact.
  9. Once all questions are completed, select "Complete Reservation." A copy of your request will be sent to your email, and a member of our team will be in touch to finalize your event details.
