Austin Grant

Austin serves as the Night Operations Coordinator at the Mountainlair Student Union. In his role, Austin oversees a team of student employees responsible for all evening and weekend operations of the student union. In his role, Austin frequently collaborates with campus departments to ensure the success of events held at the student union, such as WVU’s Up All Night program. Austin has a passion for developing student employees and providing all students exceptional experiences on campus. 

Austin received his Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education in 2021 and his Master of Arts in Higher Education Administration in 2023, both from West Virginia University. Austin has worked in Student life both as a student and professionally since 2017. Austin first started as a lifeguard with Campus Recreation during his freshman year. While in graduate school, Austin served as the Graduate Assistant for Aquatics from 2021-2023. While serving in that role, Austin took on additional leadership roles including serving as the NIRSA State Student Leader for West Virginia. In Spring 2023, Austin moved to his current role as the Night Operations Coordinator at the Mountainlair Student Union. 

Outside of work, Austin enjoys spending time in the outdoors, especially hiking, boating, and maintaining pools at a local summer camp.
